Collins, 72, said COMMENTING on hollywood: ( Hollywood has changed considerably since she first started writing about it.)

"When I wrote 'Hollywood Wives,' the book that really put me out there, that was in the '80s and the wives of the talk-show hosts and the moguls and the producers ran Hollywood."

It was a very social town back then, she explained, with deals made at the tennis matches, dinner parties, home screenings and nights-out that those Hollywood wives orchestrated.

"I don't think that happens today at all," she said. "I think the whole industry today is run by business suits."

More than 50 people have been killed and hundreds of injured people

The cause of this huge explosion is a natural gas leak, according to officials.

The middle town explosion happened in a power plant built south of the city on the Connecticut River.

Homeowners more than 10 miles away said the 11 a.m. explosion at the Kleen Energy Systems power plant on River Road created a shock wave so intense they mistakenly thought the central part of the state had experienced an earth quake.

Around 50 workers were in the section of the power plant where the explosion occurred at 11:37 a.m., blowing portions of the building away, Al Santostefano, Middletown’s deputy fire marshal, told the Associated Press. the cause of the explosion is under investigation.!!And most of investigation say it is because of the natural gas leakage

State police fire and explosive investigators were rushing to the scene at around noon Sunday, as well as state police urban rescue crews, which would search rubble for victims.


There were as many as 20 ambulances at the plant



The plant, one of the biggest to be built in New England in recent years, was supposed to bring cleaner and potentially cheaper power to the area, according to the Courant.


The plant reportedly has a 15-year contract with Connecticut Light & Power.

The power plant was still under construction and there are unconfirmed reports that workers were testing a gas line before the explosion.

Todd Leary, a former Hoosiers player and an Indiana broadcaster, has been arrested in connection with an alleged multimillion-dollar real estate fraud scheme.

Records show that Leary who is 39 years old was being held Friday in the Monroe County Jail in Bloomington.

The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne reports that Leary faces 17 felony charges, including conspiracy to misappropriate title insurance escrow funds. The newspaper reports court documents say

((((Todd Leary once worked for a title insurance broker who has pleaded guilty to several charges in a $2.7 million scheme...........!!! OOH!!

He was arrested on Thursday night before the IU-Purdue game. According to a report he is charged with 18 counts of misappropriations of escrow funds. Currently, he is at Monroe County Jail and waiting to be extradited to Allen County.

Leary was a star at Lawrence North and played for the Hoosiers in 1989-94, including their 1992 NCAA Final Four team.

Leary is the color analyst for IU’s radio broadcasts.

It couldn’t immediately be determined whether Todd Leary had an attorney OR NOT !!.

According to the Florida Sun-Sentinel, a 38-years-old kiteboarder was spotted a quarter mile off Stuart Beach surrounded by sharks.




Amazingly, a lifeguard paddled out to the scene where 38-years-old Stephen Howard Schafer, a resident, battled against a pack of sharks. The lifeguard rescued Schafer, pulling him onto the rescue board then paddled back. Schafer suffered multiple bite wounds and was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Schafer was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No word yet on what type of sharks attacked Schafer.


Kitesurfing or kiteboarding is a surface water sport that uses the wind to pull a rider through the water on a small surfboard or a kiteboard (similar to a wakeboard).



Generally kiteboarding refers to a style of riding known as freestyle or wake-style, whereas kitesurfing is more “wave-riding” oriented. These two styles usually require different boards and specific performance kites.

Authorities are now trying to figure out what kind of shark it was that killed him. They believe it is most likely a larger breed of shark, such as a bull, tiger, or possibly great white.

Yesterday, at 4:15 PM, lifeguard Daniel Lund saw Schafer through binoculars floating in an unguarded part of the ocean. He paddled out to get him and Schafer was screaming that he had been bitten. As Lund towed Schafer in, Schafer suddenly stopped talking. Rescuers administered CPR, and he was transported to Martin Memorial Hospital where he passed away.

Friends said Schafer always followed the buddy system while surfing and were surprised he was in the water alone.

"We always know that (sharks) are out there. You see them this time of the year," said Teague Taylor,

a childhood friend who says Schafer taught him to surf. "It's hard to believed that such an experienced waterman would make that one mistake."

Schafer, a gifted artist and graphic designer, was drawn to the water as a child. He surfed competitively and later started sailing, windsurfing and kiteboarding. Kiteboarders surf across the water on boards strapped to their feet, using large curved sails to pull them along.

"He had to be around the water," said Taylor, who manages a local surf store.

Actress Brittany Murphy

but saw her fortunes fade in recent years, died Sunday after going into cardiac arrest, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Murphy was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Sally Stewart said.

Murphy was transported to the hospital after the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. at the home she shared with her husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, in the Hollywood Hills.

She was just 32.!! :(

The death was first reported by online gossip site TMZ, which added Murphy was found unconscious in the shower in her LA home by her mother. TMZ says the LA coroner will begin an investigation into Murphy's death today.

Murphy has been married to screen writer Simon Monjack since 2007 and has no children.

Although I'm not a GREAT fan of her But it still a Shocking news To die in such a young age like that !!!
